 This recognition is a retrospective inspection. Like the knowledge of riding a bicycle, we need to make the zuhanden state of pure skill a vorhanden object to discuss it. But imprisoned the zuhanden to the vorhande can get us no where, becuase the most important part of that knowledge is violently reduced and robbed and covered. I propose that through philosohpical hermeneutics, a zuhanden inspection can be achieved that allows us to pay attention to the activity that we are always already doing.

This re-cognition is not without a Platonic undertone, for it is a revealing of the innate knowledge of our a priori structure that we all too often never pay attention to. But it is crucial for human beings to improve their activity by first paying attention to what they are doing. Take posture, the way we breath, the way we walk, and the way we sleep, for example, these activities are normal and all too normal. Yet we need to do research on these mundance yet necessary things to better our performance of these activities and consequently better our life. 

Our emotion, life wisdom, observation of inter human relationship are such retrospective recognition of some crucial parts of the human experience. The A la recherche is one good example of the greatness of such a discovery. I believe Gadamer has pointed out a way to approach the way such discoveries are made and how to practice it. We are interpreting creatures, that is for sure. Through Gadamer, we get what kind of interpreting creature we are and how interpretation should be  done by getting back to the phenomenology of interpretation. I propose that through literature is Gadamer's inquiry most fruitful and persuasive. As literature is the language about language, interpreting activity about interpreting activity, and in many times art that concerns about art and human activity that concerns about human activities.
